Your tips have helped so much. Got him in under 10 tries lol Taking that first life bar of him helped heaps and not using lock on worked a treat. I don't have the whirlwind slash but beat him deflecting him and dodging. This may be the best fight mechanics i experienced in a game.
As for cheesing bosses lol this is my first souls game I fully committed to and I heard its hard so Im gonna use every trick in the book including kick to the groin if they allow it lol.
